Who are Teacher Guardian?
Teacher Guardian is dedicated to serving and protecting California teachers. We all grew up in California, went to public school in California, and our kids are California public school students today. As public employee and education labor professionals, we have had countless teachers seek us out for representation that they felt was lacking from their existing local and state union. Our service model is designed to provide the best representation possible at an affordable price and with no strings attached.

Rafael Ruano
Chief Executive Officer
Rafael emigrated to California with his family when he was eight years old. Growing up throughout California, eventually to settle in Sacramento, Rafael was educated in the California public school system. After graduating from Stanford University he returned to Sacramento, eventually going to McGeorge Law School and starting a career as an attorney. Learn more about Rafael
Ryan Friesen
Labor Specialist
Mr. Friesen has been a full-time labor professional for the last nine years. Before joining the Teacher Guardian team Ryan worked for the California School Employees Association as a Labor Relations Representative where he represented school employees in discipline matters and contract negotiations . Previous to becoming a labor professional he worked in public schools for seven years.
